Releasing the
passion that is inspired by the beauty of God’s world drives
Kathie Wright to expand her volume of work in watercolour and acrylic media.
Kathie graduated
from the Graphic Design program at Sheridan College. In 1990 she began to see the
potential for personal expression using watercolour. Since that time she has
taken courses from Kai-Liis McInnes,
Margaret Roseman, Jacques Hebert, and Zoltan Szabo, to name a few.
As she continues to
develop her skills, Kathie is very active in the Georgian Bay Association for Creative Arts, The Blue Mountain Foundation
for the Arts, and the Saugeen Artists
Co-op. She was awarded second prize for a watercolour portrait in the Blue Mountain Foundation of the Arts Juried Show,
April 2006, and third prize for an acrylic in the Walkerton Juried Show,
March 2009.
Flowers, landscapes,
homes, portraits and still-life are all themes for Kathie’s watercolour
palette. She is often asked to do commissions such as house portraits that
instantly become treasured family heirlooms.
Kathie Wright’s
work is on display at the Bluewater Gallery in Thornbury Ontario, as well as several local venues in
Hanover, Neustadt, and Walkerton, Ontario.
